Sanobar

Sanobar is Tajik and she came to the UK as a refugee from Samarkand, a historic city in Uzbekistan renowned for its rich culinary traditions. She holds a degree of Persian Language and History and she's also the owner of Samarkandpalav, a food business that celebrates the authentic flavors of her hometown in London.

My Story

Sanobar joined TERN which helped her start her food business. Her signature Palav was included in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016, recognizing the cultural significance of this iconic dish.

Her food business Samarkand Palav is a vibrant street food, catering, and pop-up brand bringing the authentic flavors of Tajik and Central Asian cuisine to London. A graduate of Migrateful, TERN, and KERB programmes, she has been recognised for Best Dish, Best Brand, and Best Storytelling. With a mission to share her culture through food and hospitality, Sanobar combines the energy of street food with the richness of tradition. Alongside her entrepreneurial journey, she is a proud mother of four, making her story one of resilience, passion, and community.
